Services of this department include maintenance of vital records, births, marriages, deaths, burial permits, cemetery questions, the posting of meeting notices for all municipal boards, committees and commissions, maintenance of the Attorney General guided on-line training program, issuance of required materials and record keeping pertaining to the Open Meeting Law and Summary of the Conflict of Interest, and public records access officer. Additionally, this department is responsible for maintaining the election calendar, elections, voter’s registration, residency certifications, the Annual Street List (Census), Federal Census, Town Meeting and Election minutes, doing business as certificates (d.b.a.), storage tank renewals, notarization of documents, issuance of dog licenses, raffle permits and submitting both general and zoning by-law changes to the Attorney General. This will help to protect the privacy of individuals as well as help to curb identity theft. Raffle Permits Issued 0 Dog Licenses Issued 255 In 2020 there were 4 Elections and 1 Annual Town Meeting. They are as follows: Tuesday, March 3, 2020 the Presidential Primary: There were a total of 755 votes cast out of 1659 registered voters, 691 Democrat, 60 Republican, 3 Green Rainbow and 1 vote for Libertarian.
