I PEOPLE TO KNOW AT USD A Message From President Hughes The men's basketball program is integral to the University's athletic endeavors, just as the athletic program is integral to our view of education - which is that education should develop the whole person. This program moved from NCAA Division II to Division I just three years ago, and each year has seen increasing strength and com petitive capabilities in the USO team. The University is proud of the team's accom plishments, and pleased to support the pro gram in every way possible, including schol arship aid to our athletes, recognition of the values of the program, and promotion of inter collegiate athletics. I believe our USO team will be receiving some national attention this year, and I look forward to watching the season's events unfold. Vice Presidents Dr. William Pickett (University Relations), Jack Boyce (Financial Affairs), Sr. Sally Furay (Provost), and Thomas Burke (Student Affairs) work on Plans for the Future expansion of the USO Community.
