Schooled at Sacred Heart College in Observatory, South Africa, he soon became a regular on TV screens locally and internationally. His acting accolades spread from the small screen to the big screen He had starring role as Jet Hlatswayo, Minister of the Environment who finds himself at the centre of a political conspiracy, in the SABC1 political thriller mystery drama series End Game. He has had major roles in the series Interrogation Room, Tsha Tsha and Gaz'lam and the US daytime series Scout's Safari, which aired on Discovery Kids and NBC. Hlomla is also a well-respected Director and has directed various drama series as well as soaps since 2001. He was one of the directors on the two time Emmy Nominated Scout Safari II. He directed the feature film SWOP and made for TV feature, THE BET His film appearances include Fools, Red Dust, Lord Of War and more recently, Winnie and Phoenix Wilder and the Great Elephant Adventure. He appeared in the made-for-TV movie Coup! and in the international mini-series The Triangle. Dandala landed a major role in the South African-Canadian medical drama series Jozi-H. Accoladed include a number of awards at African American ceremonies – he was awarded a Lifetime Achievement Award at the Pan African Film Festival and handed the Key to the City of Los Angeles. He received the Coveted Best Actor Award at the Ghana Movie Awards in 2012 and was nominated Best Male Lead for Jacobs Cross at the Monte Carlo Film Festival. .
