Meet Our Board Our History Bill McKay– President Space Coast Pride started in 2007 as a small picnic and Shelley Rodden—Vice President has grown to become one of the most respected Pride Justin Cercone—Treasurer events in Florida, drawing people from all over the state, across the country, and even overseas. Its primary focus is to foster a sense of community among LGBTQ+ residents and to bridge the divide with our straight families, friends, neighbors and organizations. Supporting Local Organizations PFLAG Melbourne / Space Coast Parents and Friends of Lesbians and Gays (PFLAG) started with a single mom marching with her son in 1972 in New York. The organization now has over 400 chapters in the U.S. providing support, education, and advocacy for parents and their LGBTQ children. PFLAG Melbourne/Space Coast is a valuable local resource for parents and children. Along with the Rainbow Youth and T-NET subgroups, they provide a safe welcoming space for parents to learn from other parents, for questioning teens to talk to other questioning teens. Our annual donation to PFLAG continues to help support the community. Project Response Project Response was founded in 1990 and is a lifeline for over 1,400 people in the area living with HIV. They provide case management, education, and testing. We are very happy to continue to donate every year to support their mission.
