FOREWORD This is the 2012 edition of “Agricultural Statistics’’ about Niger State published by Niger State Bureau of Statistics (NSBS). The publication is one of the series of Statistical publication produced by the state’s Apex Statistical Agency (NSBS) in its effort to make available relevant data that will be useful for policy formulation, Planning, project/ programme Monitoring and evaluation and also facilitate Research studies. The publication is aimed at making available to the general public some basic facts about Agriculture in Niger State. The data contained in the publication were either extracted from the mass of available data of NSBS, obtained from administrative records of Ministry of Agriculture, Ministry of Environment & Forest Resources and Niger State Agricultural Development Project (NSADP) or extracted from publication of National Bureau of Statistics-, (NBS). The Government and people of Niger State are particularly grateful for the support of the NBS, World Bank, UNDP and other Development Partner in transforming the Apex Statistical Agency of the state (Niger State Bureau of Statistics) to a modern day Statistical outfit capable of meeting modern day statistical challenges.
