Lewis in 1819, coming from Kentucky, Ohio, Maryland, Virginia, North Parcel Post, Stamp, General Delivery Clerks Carolina, and Pennsylvania. The first settlers came because of the' Claude M. Painter Newcastle was the home of General Grose, a full-General in the I Substitute Clerk Civil War. His home in this city now houses the Henry County Rex E. Daubenspeck Historical Society, and is one of the interesting places in the city. Newcastle is the birthplace of General Omar Bundy, an' outstanding City Carriers hero of the World War. Roy L. Hill Vincornes, lndiana. Gurney Gray Places of Interest-Henry County Memorial Park, birthplace of FEDERAL BUILDING Wilbur Wright, co-inventor of the airplane, is near this city; New­ castle Y. M. C. A. and large· gym combined; many large greenhouses The Post Office Building of Newcastle is the best constructed building in Henry County. It is built of our own Indiana limestone. featuring flowers and plants of many kinds; the. Indiana State Village for Epileptics for men, women and children is located here· with Judge William 0. Barnard while representing the Sixth District I' in Congress secured the passage of the bill appropriating $75,000 many modern brick buildings and comprising 1500 acres in beautiful with which to purchase a site and erect the building. After the site Blue River valley; a ne\v County Hospital, beautifully located. was purchased it was discovered1 that the original appropriation was r' insufficient, and Hon. Finly H.
