Kelley most recently comes from Shawnee Mission East High School, where he was the assistant varsity lacrosse coach. While at East, Kelley helped take over a struggling Lancers program and compile a 50-12 record. Over Kelley’s three years, East won the 2011 LAKS Championship, as well as back-to-back LAKC Championships in 2012 and 2013. In 2012, Kelley was a part of an East program that became the first-ever Kansas City high school lacrosse team to beat Rockhurst High School, breaking the Hawklets’ 18-year unbeaten streak against Kansas City high school lacrosse programs. East followed up that win by defeating Rockhurst again, this time in the LAKC semifinals in 2013. Prior to East, Kelley served two years as an assistant coach at Rockhurst High School. The Hawklets won the 2010 MSLA Championship and were runner-ups in 2009. Kelley has also coached Glenbrook South and New Trier High Schools in Illinois, as well as Williamsville South High School in New York. Kelley graduated from Syracuse University where he played on Syracuse’s NCAA Division I National Championship team in 2000 and the Orangemen’s national runner-up team in 1999. Prior to Syracuse, Kelley attended SUNY Canton. Kelley was a two-sport athlete at Canton. He was named All-Northeast in football in 1997, as well as All-Region in lacrosse in 1997 and 1998.
