
Report of the Event 2014-15 Dated 11.09.2014 Vivekananda youth conference and Eknath Ranade jubilee On the workshop of Eknath Ranade jubilee and Vivekananda youth conference Shri Shankara mahavidyalaya celebrated the Eknath Ranade jubilee. On this occasion the chief guest were shri Sanjay Karkare (member Vivekananda ashram) Specific guest was Dr. J Durga Parsad Rao (addl. Director SSMV) and Principal and Director SSMV Dr. Raksha Singh. The member of Vivekananda presented the books and the students of SSMV gave a sect and recite a poem. Dated 19.09.2014 – 20.09.2014 Two days National Seminar on “Personality and Character Development”. A two days National Seminar was orgnised by Shri Shankaracharya Mahavidyalaya, Junwani, on Personality and Character Development in collaboration with Kusha Bhau Thakrey Journalism and Mass Communication University, Raipur. The Chief Guest was Mr. Arun Dev Gautam, IG Police (CG). The main speakers were Mr. Atul Kothari, Shiksha Uthan Samiti, Delhi and Dr. Sachidanand Joshi, Vice-Chancellor, Kusha Bhau Thakrey Journalism and Mass Communication University, Raipur. The program started with the lightning of the lamp and garlanding the idol of Maa Saraswati followed by Saraswati Vandana, which was sung by the students of B.Sc. A skit was presented by the B.Ed students on the condition of women in the society. There after saplings were presented to the dignitaries present for the program. Welcome speech was given by Principal Dr. Raksha Singh, in which she said that every teacher is a sculpture and they can guide/mould the students on the right path of success and progress. A teacher in herself is a complete encyclopedia of knowledge and culture. Additional Director Dr. JDP Rao said that teachers are the mentors of the society. He further added that only through education one can build a good character and this two days workshop is being conducted to know what are the devices that can be used to build a good character. Vice-President of Shri Ganagajali Education Society Mr.Abhishek Mishra told that India cannot be made beautiful by artificial things, it can be made beautiful if every person of society is cultured, educated and through this workshop let’s take an initiative for the personality and character development, which is essential for the success of our country. Shri I.P.Mishra, President Shri Gangajali Education Society, gave an eye opener speech in which he told us about the primitive values, that ancient people were more cultured and also he talked about our moral values mentioned in our holy book ‘Ramcharitra Manas’. He also chanted some beautiful Sholkas in Sanskrit. Chief Guest Shri Arun Dev Gautam said character building is basically on our thoughts that are how we behave in the society. He talked about the Hawks, the great Philosopher and Freud, the psychologist who believed that people are selfish and they think about themselves only, but if we want to improve we should think of our society and our neighbors first. He quoted a slogan of our former PM Shri Lal Bhadur Shastri – “Jai Jawan Jai Kisan”. He told us that it is not only the soldiers who protect the country from enemy but our farmers also play an important role in the development of the country. Shri Atul Kothari said that if we want to end the crime in the society, we should eradicate the root cause from the society. He also said that students, who belong to rural area and come to urban areas for higher education, just don’t want to go back and settle down to their native places. Dr. Sacchidanand Joshi added to the subject that we should be careful about our character, because a small issue is spotted and is blown like anything by others. Character is like a white cloth on which any mistake is viewed as black spot and highlighted. He said that people of today lives in grey colour, because it’s very easy to maintain that colour and hide the mistakes. At the end of the inaugural function, vote of thanks was given by Dr. Shaid Ali, HoD, Khushabhau Thakrey Journalism and Mass Communication University, Raipur. The conveyor of the program was Mr. Santosh Sharma, B.Ed Department and program was anchored by Mrs. Sushma Dubey, B.Ed Department. After the inaugural function the first session was taken by Mr. Alok Mishra, Education Advisor, Shiksha Uthan Samiti, Delhi, in which he told about the benefits of YOGA in our day to day life, how it works and how the physical education improves physical health, flexibility and overall development of the body. He also spoke on the importance of the environment and how to make it clean and green. In the second session he showed the various postures of yoga and also explained their benefits for a healthy mind and body. On the Second day, the first session was taken by Special Guest Dr. Manohar Bhandari, Principal, Medical College, Indore. In his lecture he told about the moral values towards health which people are forgetting. He spoke about the three moral values in one persons’ life, Food, Language and Dressing style. He opined that while eating we should chew the food and concentrate on food while eating, but today people give less time to eating, also while taking food they talk and watch television and don’t chew only swallow the food. Which causes to the intoxications and the food which is meant to give us life becomes poison for us. Expressing his views on Language, he said that now a days the use of slang language is increasing and it has become a fashion, before days we folded our hands to welcome someone but now we shake hands and transmit various disease from other body to our body and vice versa, because everybody is the carrier of the diseases. Speaking on Dressing style, he said that dress should be one in which one feels comfortable but now dresses are becoming small and tight which in turns blocks the air system and blood vessels and also put pressure on various vital parts of the body which are in turn harmful and dangerous for the body. He said that we are suffering from vitamin D deficiency and taking it orally where as in the nature it is present and we can get enough of it while doing Suryanamaskar, which keeps the body fresh and fit. Later the students were given to answer which was followed by a questionnaire in which students asked various questions realated to various health issues. Dr. Manohar brilliantly answered all the questions and cleared the doubts of the students. The second session focused on presentation based on the environment. It was successfully conducted and students from various colleges, presented their views and ideas for the saved the environment through their information and attractive presentations. In the second part questionnaire was given to the students to solve and recapitulation of the two day seminarwas done by somw verbal question by the speaker which were correcting answered by most of the students. The seminar ended with the valedictory ceremony. In the closing ceremony Shri I.P.Mishra thanked all the dignitaries and all the invitee lecturers for making this a success and guiding the students to a path of personality development and character building, rather strong self charactization. Special Invitee Shri S.K.Pandey, Chancellor, Pt. Ravishankar Shukla University, congratulated the whole team for making this wonderful two day workshop a great success and also expected that the students who have attended the workshop will come out in shinning colors from this college. The mementos were given to all the dignitaries and at the end vote of thanks was proposed by Principal Dr. Raksha Singh, in which she thanked Shri I.P.Mishra for supporting and removing all the hurdles to make this program a great success. The valedictory function was anchored by Mrs. Vandana Singh from B.Ed Department. Dated 23.09.2014 Seminar on awareness of E-bola Virus Nowadays there is panic and misinformation between the students and parents regarding E- bola Virus. To create an awareness in the society and amongst the students Shri Shankaryacharya Mahavidyalaya, Junwani organized a seminar on E-bola Virus. Guest Speaker for the seminar was Dr. Pramod Kumar Matish, Asst. Prof, Dept. of Biotechnology, Govt. Digvijay PG College, Rajnandgaon. Dated 29.10.2014 Workshop on “Understanding the potential within you” A dedicated team of experts from Delhi visited Shri Shankaracharya Mahavidyalaya to give guidance to the students on Civil Service Exams. The experts were from Tejas IAS Academy, Delhi. They gave the quote “Understanding the potential within you” for UPSC and CGPSC. They guided that more information can be gathered from the Govt. portal site: www.upsc.gov.in. They further gave the information that Subtotal Written test is of 1750 marks and personality test is of 275 marks which leads to the Grand Total of 2025 marks. Dated 04-11-2014: Lecture on the “Importance of Electromagnetic Interference and Electromagnetic Compatibility(EMI/EMC) and its effect on humanity” Dr. Mohan Lal Verma, Professor of Applied Physics Department, Shri Shankaracharya Technical Campus delivered a lecture on the “Importance of Electromagnetic Interference and Electromagnetic Compatibility(EMI/EMC) and its effect on humanity” on 04th November 2014 in the college premises of Shri Shankaracharya Mahavidyalaya ,Bhilai, organised by the department of Physics and Electronics. In his talk, the speaker informed that in our country alone there are more than lacs of cell towers installed in various parts of the country. These cell towers release electromagnetic waves which effect on the health of the living beings.
