May | June 2005 Beyond the Green Dear Classmates, We have some good news and some bad news, unfortunately. Our colleague, Joe Nagraj has passed away. Thanks to Christine Cuoco ‘98, we think back on how Joe touched the lives of many of us in the Class of 1998. He will be missed. A member of Groovemerchant (later Stand Up Eight) while at Dartmouth, Joe impressed his many friends not only with his awe-inspiring guitar but also with his subtle humor, consistently laid-back nature, and—despite a mysterious nonchalance— endless enthusiasm for hanging out no matter what time of night or what was due the next day. The only thing more extraordinary than Joe’s rare musical talent was his unassuming presence; he was brilliant, quietly hysterical, unbelievably gifted, and the sweetest guy we knew. Though he deserved it perhaps more than anyone, Joe never wanted attention and absolutely never took himself too seriously.
