Happy New Year! This is the phrase that I use as we begin a new academic and athletic year, and we feel inspired by the renewed energy around our campus community. There is no more special place than right here in Aggieland! All of you are part of the Aggie Family, and we are extremely fortunate to be here during a transformative time in your life so that you can achieve your full potential utilizing the platform of college athletics. This is a very significant time in our history as Texas A&M competes in the Southeastern Conference, the toughest conference in all of collegiate athletics. When we wear that Aggie uniform, we compete for SEC championships, while also positioning us to compete for national championships. In addition to our competitive goal of winning SEC and NCAA titles, we believe your most important priority should be earning a degree from this world-class institution. Earning that Aggie ring is a life changing moment! Our vision for the Department of Athletics is to be the number one academic athletics program in the entire country while providing you with a collegiate experience that is unmatched anywhere. In that effort, our purpose will be to maximize your full capacity by surrounding you with the best coaches, superb facilities, excellent administrators, and some of the top professionals and support staff in the country.
