Week to [email protected] Volume 19 Issue 1 Page 2 19th Annual “Cruise to the Carousel” Car Show Save the Date August 25, 2019 for the 19th Annual Cruise to the Carousel Car Show. Each year the Rollin’ Relics car club sponsors this car show to raise funds for the Heritage Carousel to keep the cost of rides for children at just 50 cents and help maintain the Carousel. It is the longest run- ning and largest car shows in Central Iowa. The 2018 Cruise to the Carousel was held on Sunday, Au- gust 26, 2018 with 183 cars registered. Rollin’ Relics hand- ed out 53 awards including the Carousel Award, which went to Dean Archer of Ankeny for his 1946 Super Deluxe Ford Station Wagon. The event raised $7000 for the Heritage Carousel and a check to the Carousel board was presented on October 1, 2018 at the Rollin’ Relics monthly meeting. Heritage Carousel Heritage Carousel will be open Sunday May 12th from 1 to 3 pm as a special Mother’s Day treat. Moms ride free! Get a sneak peak at the new programs at the Carousel this season. May 18th is Opening Day and First Rider Contest at the Carousel. Be in line by 10:45 for a chance to be the first rider. The new counter will be dedicated prior to the drawing for the First Rider. The new counter will allow for better customer service as well as an improved way to showcase the wonderful, unique Carousel merchan- dise. Hours on the 18th and 19th will be 11 am to 7 pm. The Carousel opens for the full season May 25. Season passes are on sale. A family pass ($45) allows one family (guardian and children) unlimited carousel rides for the entire season. A Grandparent pass ($45) allows Grandparents and their grandchildren unlim- ited Carousel rides for the entire season. Child Care Provider passes are $40 to $135, depend- ing on the number of kids.
