Opportunities in Dermatology Saturday, October 10, 2015 • Morning Session Get ready to help your patients enhance the look and feel of their skin and treat the common skin conditions they are dealing with. Dermatology and cosmeceuticals, including compounding as well as front-end anti-aging skin care lines, present a great niche for the independent community pharmacist because of the variety of ways they can help patients. This morning session will begin with a quick overview of skin morphology and common dermatological skin conditions, then we’ll move onto scar removal, describing the mechanisms of various active ingredients used in scar therapy and which are appropriate for various scar types ranging from keloid to atrophic scars. The morning will conclude with the exploration of creative ideas to market to dermatologists and aesthetics practitioners. Opportunities in Ear, Nose, and Throat Saturday, October 10, 2015 • Afternoon Session Many medical conditions from the head to the throat require pharmaceutical care. This afternoon session will focus on educating the pharmacist about the often chronic and recurring conditions affecting their patients, such as otitis media, otitis externa, nasal polyps and pharyngitis as well as oral conditions such as lichen planus, aphthous ulcers, and burning mouth. Another focus will be on oral mucositis, a widespread and potentially serious consequence of high-dose chemotherapy and radiotherapy. Finally, another issue affecting many of our patients is chronic sinusitis. ENT doctors often struggle with treating these patients and are looking for innovative and viable new treatment alternatives. Member Fee: $350 (half-day: $200) Non-Member Fee: $450 (half-day: $225) For the latest information and to register, go to NCPAnet.org/convention 4 NCPA 2015 Annual Convention NCPA_2015_PreConv_Ad.indd 1 5/7/2015 8:42:09 AM PRE-CONVENTION PROGRAMMING Education that will lift your business.
