Chanoma Performed Extensively As a Solo Artist

Takeshi Nishimoto (born in Fukuoka, Japan) is a classically-trained guitarist and composer. In addition to collaborations with diverse artists including the late sitar master Rahul Sakyaputra and I’ m Not a Gun associate John Tejada, Nihsimoto has also chanoma performed extensively as a solo artist. Nishimoto relocated to the United States and enrolled in the guitar program at the University of Southern California Thornton School of Music. He received classical training from some of the world’ s premiere guitar players. He has had Pepe Romero as instructor, playing in four of his master classes. Also, Takeshi had the jazz guitar legend Phil Upchurch as his mentor. In 2004, Nishimoto commenced playing the north Indian classical instrument, the Sarod, under the guidance of Pt. Rajee Taranath.
