Hofler, who earned a doctoral degree at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, has been at UCF since 1989 and became chair of the Department of Economics one year ago. Prior to coming to UCF, he served on the faculty at Oakland University and the University of Tennessee. His research concentrates in the fields of labor economics, health economics and applied econometrics. Huseman, dean of the College of Business Administration since 1990, announced his resignation on Dec. 22.
