PERMANENTLY RETURNING AN IPAD GUIDE Form Updated: 4-27-18 STEPS TO PERMANENTLY RETURN AN IPAD: ❏ Return charge cord with device ❏ Remove passcode ❏ Log in to iCloud and... ❏ Turn off “Find My iPad” ❏ Turn off “iCloud Backup” ❏ Sign out & Remove all Email Accounts ❏ Sign out of iTunes on the iPad ❏ Remove iPad from the iCloud on the iPad ❏ Remove iPad from the iCloud on computer ❏ Deauthorize iPad from iTunes HOW TO… HOW TO… 2. REMOVE PASSCODE: 7. REMOVE IPAD FROM ICLOUD on the ● Settings iPad: ● Touch ID & Passcode ~OR~ Passcode ● Settings ● Enter your passcode ● Touch your name at the top ● Turn Passcode Off ● Touch “iCloud” ● Scroll all the way down to find “Delete LOG INTO ICLOUD: Account” (or “Sign Out”) and tap on that 3. TURN OFF “FIND MY IPAD”: ● Confirm the removal of the iCloud ● Settings account from the device by tapping on ● iCloud “Delete” or “Sign Out” ● Tap Find My iPhone and iPad ● Enter your Apple ID password 8. REMOVE IPAD FROM ICLOUD on ● Tap to turn it off computer: 4. TURN OFF “ICLOUD BACKUP”: ● Log into your computer ● Settings ● Go to iCloud.com ● Tap the Apple profile at the top the ● Click All Devices Settings menu ● Choose the device you would like to ● Tap iCloud remove ● If prompted Enter your Apple ID and ● Click Erase [​ ​whatever the device name is]​ password to confirm ● Enter your Apple ID password ● Tap Sign In ● When the device is erased, click Remove ● Tap iCloud Backup from Account ● Switch to turn it off 9. DEAUTHORIZE IPAD FROM ITUNES: 5. REMOVE EMAIL ACCOUNT(S): ● Log into your computer ● Settings ● Open the iTunes program ● Mail ● Click Store ● Accounts ● Click Authorize This Computer ● Tap the email account you want to ● Enter your Apple ID and Password remove ● Click Authorize ● Scroll to the bottom of the account and ● Click OK tap Delete Account ● Choose the device you would like to disconnect and Click Deauthorize 6. SIGN OUT OF ITUNES ON IPAD: ● Settings ● Tap iTunes & App Store ● Tap on your Apple ID ● Tap Sign Out .
