Introduction Oxford University Press (OUP) is a department of the University of Oxford. it furthers the University’s objective of excellence in research, scholarship, and education by publishing worldwide. OUP Pakistan is committed to the spread of knowledge and improvement in the intellectual content of life in Pakistan. OUP’s aim has always been to stimulate critical thinking along with a love for books and reading among the younger generation, and our authors bear this in mind when producing our books. in order to encourage the reading habit, we provide, in addition to textbooks, appealing and challenging reading material for children at every level. Our growing list of supplementary texts includes books in english, Urdu, and the regional languages of Pakistan. OUP strongly believes in the power and benefits of reading and story-telling. it is engaged in helping children embark on a life-long quest of stories, books, and knowledge. The books featured in this catalogue cover a wide range of age groups, subject areas, and genres of writing, including fiction, non-fiction, dictionaries, and reference books. These books will be valuable contributions to school library resources. Libraries help to inculcate the reading habit by providing access to material and resources; they motivate students by extending their learning outside the curriculum, and make pupils life-long learners by developing information skills. The scope of titles, which will appeal to all students, will involve the less able, and challenge the high achievers. nOTe: Prices of books not mentioned in the catalogue are available on request. all local teaching guides are complimentary and can be downloaded from the Oxford University Press Pakistan website www.oup.com.pk School Library Books Catalogue 2021 Contents readers 2 drama 68 Poetry 72 Picture books 75 Workbooks 83 non-fiction 84 anthologies 88 fiction 90 english Language Teaching 101 Language 111 dictionaries/Thesauruses 112 Atlases 139 Other resources 145 Online resources 148 Urdu Poetry 154 Urdu readers and fiction 156 index 177 School Library Books Catalogue 2021 READERS DRAGONFLY Readers Levels 1 to 9 For Kindergarten to Class 8 READ ENGLISH, DISCOVER ASIA Dragonfly Readers is a new series for developing reading comprehension skills featuring: • 204 beautifully illustrated stories and non-fiction texts by asian authors and artists • Asian culture, theme, and values infused in the series • Culture and vocabulary pages, supplementary projects, and activities dragonfly readers offer a complete system to teach graded reading with comprehensive teacher support. Oxford Reading Tree is divided into stages (Levels 1 to 9). you can easily identify each stage by the colour on its cover. as children progress to each new stage, the number of words and the difficulty of the sentences in the stories gradually increase. stage 1 teaches important pre-reading skills. Levels 1+ to 5 introduce specific reading skills which are developed as children progress through Levels 6 to 11 to become fluent and confident readers.
