This work took several months to complete and puts Carlow in the enviable position of being the first county to produce such a record. Many people who lived, or live in one of our neighbouring counties but in the postal in the district of Carlow are included in this inventory. The time span of 62 years has made the compilation of this work difficult, omis sions are inevitable but the register remains open for entries where adequate infor mation is submitted. I acknowledge the help and co-operation of all personnel attached to the Military Delence Forces Archives but in particular Comdt. Peter Young, Comdt. Victor Lang, Sgt. Terry Hudson and Pte.
