Star Control: Origins Free v1.2 Update is ​ Now Available The ability to create custom adventures quickly and easily accompanies v1.2’s gameplay and balance improvements Plymouth, MI. – November 15, 2018 - Today, Stardock released a free v1.2 update for its open ​ universe space RPG, Star Control: Origins. The update brings a major accessibility ​ ​ improvement for modding with the inclusion of “Adventure Studio” in the crafting option off the main menu, as well as several other updates to UI interface and gameplay. Players will now be able to access the easy-to-use tools of Adventure Studio in a quick and straightforward way. “Modding is important to us here at Stardock,” said CEO Brad Wardell. “That’s why these tools are accessible from the main menu and are simple to use, whether you have modding experience or not.” Several mods have already been uploaded to the Multiverse, which released in v1.1. Players looking to get started with crafting their own quests, ​ dialogues, and characters can find a modding guide here. ​ ​ Stardock has addressed player feedback regarding the collecting and selling of resources by updating and improving the interface of the resources screen. Players will now be able to sell resources one at a time in order to conserve specific amounts that are required for certain quests or objectives. Additionally, quests that require a resource turn in will automatically lock it in the sell-screen. It can be manually turned off at the player’s discretion. v1.2 also includes an update to Terran Colony upgrades. New human colonies that players help develop via quest objectives now serve as waypoints to refuel ships, recruit additional crew, and add new ships to a fleet. As they’re developed, each colony also provides individual rewards, such as specialized weapons, ships, and lander components. The version 1.2 update is now available for download.
