Twenty years ago a group of 14 and 15 year-old soccer Dani Barcón, Jesús Muñoz, players living in Barcelona daydreamed about ending up coaching their city’s team. The Bernat Solé and Santi Padró dream came true because that group of young up-and-coming soccer stars ended up leading Barça, the best team in soccer history. Produced by TV3 - Televisió de Catalunya We’re referring to Tito Vilanova, and Pep Guardiola, and many other personalities with less media focus, but who played key roles in F.C.Barcelona’s history, among them Jordi Roura, Aureli Altmira and Jaume Torras. Tito Vilanova was the F.C.Barcelona team coach in the 2012-2013 season, during which they won the Spanish league after making 100 points, a record in that competition's history. Months later, on April 25, 2014, Tito died of a relentless disease. The documentary reveals how he worked with and led this first-line team as he simulta- neously underwent medical treatment, and the role he played in renewing Messi’s contract and encouraging Neymar’s addition to the team. Team players Leo Messi, Gerard Piqué, Xavi Hernández, Andrés Iniesta and Charly Rexach add their voices to the documentary, describing how he touched them, both as a friend and a top player. This is a documentary filled with many moving moments and taking us to the most humane side of the sport, far beyond the star-studded glamor that surrounds it. “Tito’s Striking Touch” is one of a series of other documentaries developed along similar lines, including among them “Messi’s Striking Touch” and “Leverkusen’s Striking Touch.” The program received a 14.8% audience share in its primetime broadcast, becoming the third most-watched program of the day.
