INFORMATION FOR COMPLETING AN APPLICATION FOR A STAFF POSITION IN 2021 Richard Johnson Anglican School commenced with its first enrolments in February 1997. This expanding PreK to Year 12 School provides accessible, contemporary co‐educational Christian education for the region. The School operates two Campuses: one in Oakhurst – Kindergarten to Year 12 with a current enrolment total of 958 students; the other in the growth area of Marsden Park – with a current enrolment of 141 students in Kindergarten to Year 6 and over 30 students in PreKindergarten. The Marsden Park Campus has an anticipated capacity for over 1100 students and will progress into the Secondary Years onsite in 2024. The Oakhurst Campus currently consists of 421 students in the Primary section and 537 students in the Secondary section, which is projected to further increase to approx. 550‐560 students next year. Two major construction projects during 2021 will provide additional facilities: Senior Studies Centre ($5.8m) at the Oakhurst Campus; and the first stage of a two‐storey classroom building ($6.2m) at the Marsden Park Campus. The School has excellent facilities and resources. The School is owned by The Anglican Schools Corporation (TASC), which currently oversees 16 schools: Arndell Anglican College, Oakville (K‐12) Claremont College, Randwick (K‐6) Danebank School, Hurstville (K‐12) Macquarie Anglican Grammar School, Dubbo (K‐12) Mamre Anglican School, Kemps Creek (K‐12) Nowra Anglican College, Bomaderry (K‐12) Oran Park Anglican College, Oran Park (K‐12) Orange Anglican Grammar School, Orange (K‐12) Penrith Anglican College, Orchard Hills (K‐12) Roseville College, Roseville (K‐12) Rouse Hill Anglican College, Rouse Hill (K‐12) Shellharbour Anglican College, Dunmore (K‐12) St. Luke’s Grammar School, Dee Why (K‐12), incl. Bayview Campus (K‐6) Thomas Hassall Anglican College, Middleton Grange (K‐12) Wollondilly Anglican College, Tahmoor (K‐12) The aim of the Corporation Board is to contribute to the governance of these schools, particularly through delegated authority to each School Council. The Corporation and its schools are serviced by a ‘Group Office’, which provides logistical support, financial services and handles accounting functions such as payroll, fee collection etc. The day‐to‐day management of each school, including the appointment of staff, the enrolment of students, the learning curriculum etc., is the responsibility of the Principal. Richard Johnson Anglican School seeks to provide a dynamic, caring Christian educational community, founded on the Lordship of Jesus Christ, to foster learning excellence. Therefore, the School is keen to appoint Christian Staff who will have a significant impact upon the School’s Christian ethos and culture. Page | 1 The School’s dynamic Christian culture is accomplished through: significant staff involvement; placing Jesus Christ central to all planning and activities; high quality, professional teaching; clear expectations and positive reinforcement of student conduct and learning endeavours; a safe and caring relational environment; and a strong welfare system enabling good communication with students and parents. Recently, a long‐standing Secondary Music Teacher, who was also leading the Strings Ensemble Program for Primary and Secondary students, notified her intention to conclude at the end of 2020 due to her husband’s work moving them to regional NSW. She has taught Secondary Music classes, as well as co‐ordinated a Strings Program, catering for beginners through to competent instrumentalists. Her total part‐time allocation, inclusive of teaching and tutoring is 4 days per week ie. 0.8fte. Therefore, the current combined role could be considered (as either 0.8 fte or full‐time) or it could be divided into two roles ie. part‐time Music Teacher position (approx. 0.6fte) and part‐time Strings Ensemble Tutor (approx. 0.4fte). Attach to your emailed application. Teaching applicants must provide evidence of being registered with NESA and a copy of their relevant Accreditation status. They also should be able to demonstrate contemporary knowledge of the latest NESA curriculum and syllabus documents. Non‐Teachers: download and complete the Application for Employment Support and Operational Staff form from the Employment section on the School’s website. Attach to your emailed application. All applicants must provide their Employment Working With Children Check (WWCC) Number and Date of Birth with the application. An Application will not be considered without a WWCC Number being provided. All applicants should provide a cover letter, with a statement describing the main reason/s for submitting the application.
