The art is Mr. Mahesh, Mr. Tushar Barman and traditionally practiced by Adi Dravida and few other communities in and around districts of Shimoga. Hase Chit- Mr. Mahendra tara painting is done on mud walls of tribal houses. The aesthetic designs of tribal figures, geometric patterns NID, Bengaluru are intricately painted with natural grass brush and natural colors which are made using rice flour and Kemman- nu-red earth, Sunna-lime stone and turmeric. After cutting, the paddy shots/strands are dried in the by fields for 3 to 4 days. The paddy is separated by its quality. Artisan carefully inspects the paddy shots to segre- Mr. Mahesh, Mr. Tushar Barman and gate by quality. Good quality paddy strands are mainly used for ‘Thorana’.
