It will also be the fi rst ever meeting of England and Wales at the JWC. • This is the fourth time England have reached the fi nal of the IRB Junior World Championship, Points Player having lost to New Zealand on all previous three occasions in 2011 (33-22), 2009 (44-28) and 63 Patricio Fernandez 2008 (38-3). England beat Wales 28-15 to stop their neighbours from winning the Grand Slam and in the process 6 Seabelo Senatla took the Under 20 Six Nations title from Wales’ grasp. South Africa MATCH SUMMARY: 3 8 Players • Wales started this competition with an impressive 42-3 win over Samoa and fi nished top of their pool unbeaten with wins over Scotland (26-21) and Argentina (25-20). A surprising 33-21 118 Tom Homer win over New Zealand in the semi-fi nal meant England were to progress to the fi nal for the England fourth time in six years. 116 Matthew Jarvis Wales TOURNAMENT RECORD 105 Francois Brummer South Africa • SAM DAVIES needs to score eight more points than Argentina’s Patricio Fernandez in the last round of matches on Sunday, to fi nish as highest points scorer in this year’s competition. >> Tries • Wales have the best disciplinary record in this year’s IRB Junior World Championship, having not received a yellow or red card so far. Wales have received a total of 15 yellows and no red Tries Player cards in the 29 games they have played in at the Junior World Championship since 2008. • Wales arrive at their fi rst Junior World Championship fi nal with a 69% winning record in the 10 Andrew Conway competition. They have won 20 and lost nine of their 29 games to date. Ireland • Wales’ Matthew Jarvis is the second highest points scorer in the IRB Junior World 10 Zac Guildford Championships with a total of 116 points. England’s Tom Homer holds the all-time record, New Zealand scoring a total of 118 points in this competition. 8 Christian Wade • England are going into this year’s fi nal having already lost a match. Wales in contrast, are so England far unbeaten in this year’s competition. 8 Jamie Farndale • England have a win percentage of 72% in the IRB Junior World Championships with a total of Scotland 21 wins and eight losses in 29 games. 8 Julian Savea • England’s 109-0 win over the USA last week was the highest points scored in a match since New Zealand the competition began. South Africa had held the record previously having scored 108 8 Ryuhei Arita points against the USA in 2008. Japan MAN IN THE MIDDLE • MIKE FRASER of New Zealand makes his fourth appearance as a referee in the Junior World Championship when he offi ciates in the fi nal between Wales and England.
