gijs bakker d e s i g n /news12 Caroline van Hoek presents Gijs Bakker at Design Miami 2012 During the Design Miami 2012 fair an overview of Gijs Bakker’s jewellery designs will be presented by the Brussels based gallery Caroline van Hoek. Gijs Bakker’s work will be presented in a timeline running from 1977 up to 2011. Some of the included pieces are: Elizabeth II necklace from the Queens series, 1977, The Adam necklace, 1988 and the QR brooch from 2011. Besides Gijs Bakker's jewellery also the Chair with Holes, which was designed in 1989 for droog will be presented. The fair runs from December 5th until December 9th 2012. Gijs Bakker leaves Design Academy Eindhoven This summer Gijs Bakker resigned from his position as the Head of the Masters of the Design Academy. He worked 25 years at the Design Academy as Head of the Man and Living Department and and since 2003 Head of the Masters program.
