The major land use or topography including type within the core zone is agriculture. The mining has been increase in planned in such a way that minimum amount of land is intensity of land degraded. The additional land proposed for the mine is use (with basically required for mine expansion and construction of respect to local final embankment, road diversion etc. No additional external land use plan) dump has been envisaged within the ML area of New Majri UG to OC. 3 Total overburden generation from the mine is 383.99 Mm . Out of which 10.31 Mm3 has been generated till 31.03.2018 and dumped in rise side external dump (6.39 Mm3), black cotton soil dump (1.20 Mm3) and embankment (0.50 Mm3). Additional 373.68 Mm3 OB will be generated, out of which 32.45 Mm3 of overburden will be dumped in existing external dump and 4.50 Mm3 in embankment. 3 The balance 336.73 Mm OB will be accommodated in the void and surface area of nearby New Majri Sector – IA & IIA OC mine after its exhaustion in next 5 years. The gainful utilization of void of New Majri Sector I (A) & II (A) OC mine will minimize and reduce additional land requirement for external dumping to the extent of about 550 ha. Thus approx. 550 ha of fertile agriculture land will be saved from degradation. Present Land Use Details Sl. Tenancy Govt. Forest Total No Particulars land Land Land Land .
