There were 38 ethical inquiries lodged and/or worked on during this period, 24 of which have been closed and are listed in later pages. 23 Board meetings were held from the beginning of FY 2005 to the present, copies of all approved minutes are attached. During meetings, oral examinations were conducted, which include an emphasis on the ethical code. For the period of fiscal years 2005, 2006, and the first half of 2007 the Board issued licenses to 63 psychologists, 2 school psychologists, 3 school psychologist independent practitioners, which is a total of 68 licenses for this time period. Also during this period, applications were approved for 114 supervised psychologists to enter into the supervision for licensure program. In addition, the Board conducted revisions to its Rules, Title 17. Ongoing business of the Board included processing of quarterly license renewals, annual supervision card renewals for supervised psychologists, quarterly supervision forms, monitoring continuing education for licensees, and continuing education requests. Agenda Item #8 – Charla Barrack Application Appeal Motion: Ms. Merritt moved that the Board cannot accept Charla Barrack’s current educational degree since it does not meet the requirements as found in Article 21 and Title 17 and that the Board Secretary write her a letter encouraging her to apply to a graduate school for re-specialization. Second: Mr. Childers. Vote: Unanimous Agenda Item # 9 – Pamela Newlon, MA Doctoral Level Application Motion: Ms. Mufson moved that Pamela Newlon’s application at the doctoral level be rejected at this time, since the Federal Government will not acknowledge her doctoral coursework and school and suggested that Ms. Newlon apply for licensure in California. If licensure is obtained the WV Board would reconsider her doctoral application. Second: Dr. Stein. Vote: Unanimous. Agenda Item #11 – Colleen Reed, MA Request to Remove Supervision Restriction Motion: Mr. Childers moved to grant the request of Colleen Reed to remove the restriction of no supervision of supervised psychologists in her area of competence. Second: Ms. Mufson. Vote: Unanimous Agenda Item #13 – Carl Canfield, MA EPPP Extension Motion: Dr. Stein moved that Carl Canfield be granted a one year extension to 9/23/05 to take and pass the EPPP. Second: Ms. Merritt. Vote: Unanimous. Agenda Item #15 – Rebecca Francis Question Concerning Licensure It was determined that Rebecca Francis contact APA for information on re-specialization at the doctoral level and submit a formalized plan to the Board. Agenda Item #14 – Molly Straights Question Using Certifications Following Signatures On Reports The Board determined that psychologists who have earned additional certifications may list them following their signatures, degree, and licensure status. Agenda Item #10 – Adrianne Nicholas-Bean, MA Supervisor Request The Board decided to grant Colleen Reed, MA supervisor status which will allow Adrianne Nicholas- Bean to be supervised by her. Agenda Item #16 – Election of Officers Motion: Ms. Merritt moved that each Board member currently serving as an officer is re- elected to his or her respective office for the next year. Second: Dr. Stein. Vote: Unanimous Agenda Item #12 – Records Retention This item was discussed. Dr. Harlow stated that he had additional information. Item tabled until information is located. Agenda Item #7 – Information for Advertising by Psychologists The Board asked that Karen Adams, Office Secretary, see if there is information concerning advertising on the APA or ASPPB web pages and, via our web page, direct those interested to this information. Agenda Item #6 Review of Demonstrable Competency Form for Oral Examinations It was decided that several changes be made on the form and that Kathy Lynch will make the necessary changes. 7 New item to add to the agenda – Web Site Updates Ethical Concerns Motion: Mr. Childers moved that the Board enter Executive Session.
