Lal- trict (Awarded Citation plus Cash Reward of zirliana Hon'ble Home Minister during the 2nd CM’s Con- Rs.10,000) ference with Mizoram Police Officers 2017 held at Arya Mess PHQ on 31st March 2017 NEWSLETTER ISSUE NO.7 P A G E 4 HEALTHY LIVING WORKSHOP ORGANIZED IN COORDINATION WITH AMWAY AT 3RD BN MAP HEADQUARTERS ON 27TH JUNE 2017 : The workshop was organized to create awareness about ways of healthy living and lifestyle, Pu Thianghlima Pachuau IPS, DGP Mizoram was the chief guest, and workshop was attended by Police person of all ranks from various branches of Police Department. Sixteen (16) IPS Probationers (69th RR) on 12.07.2017 visited and called on DGP on their Study cum Cultural Tour to Mizoram NEWSLETTER ISSUE NO.7 P A G E 5 NEW INITIATIVE IN TR AINING NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF SOCIAL DEFENCE (NISD) NEW DELHI SPONSORED 3 DAYS WORKSHOP ON SOCIAL DEFENCE ISSUES FOR MIDDLE LEVEL FUNCTIONARIES OF POLICE DEPARTMENT AT AIZAWL. Workshop was attended by 21 SIs, 6 Inspec- tors, 14 DySPs from all districts of Mizoram. Renowned faculties from Social Welfare De- partment, SCERT, Judiciary, Media ad- dressed participants on various issues of so- cial defence. The participants were taken to visit Rehabilitation centre at Synod Hospital Durtlang and Observation Home. It provided a new horizon of understanding social de- fence issues for the middle level functionar- ies of Police Department. The programme formally inaugurated by DGP as chief guest was chaired by Sh. C.Laldina DIG(Training). Participants during a visit to Observation Home, Mizoram State Child Protection Society under Social Welfare Department, Govt. of Mizoram NEWSLETTER ISSUE NO.7 P A G E 6 COMMUNITY POLICING I NITIATIVE FELICITATION PROGRAMME FOR TOPPERS OF HSLC & HSSLC 2017 : District Police organized felicitation pro- grammes in their area of jurisdiction for morale boosting of the students to build a positive community police relations. Toppers of HSLC & HSSLC 2017 within Aizawl South Sub-Division felicitated by Aizawl Police Station under SP Aizawl Topper of HSLC 2017 felicitated by SP Serchhip Toppers of HSLC & HSSLC 2017 within Aizawl North Sub-Division felicitated by Bawngkawn Police Station under SP Aizawl Toppers of HSLC & HSSLC 2017 within Lunglei District felicitated by SP Lunglei NEWSLETTER ISSUE NO.7 P A G E 7 GENERATING TRAFFIC AWARENESS AMONG STUDENTS AND COMMUNITY On 02.06.2017, Aizawl Traffic police conducted Traffic awareness Campaign at Synod HSS, Aizawl. More than 750 students attended. Similar such awareness Campaigns were organized at various schools at other Districts as well. Awareness Programme and Interaction Session with students of Govt. Ramhlun Middle School, Aizawl in collaboration with DC Aizawl organized by SP Traffic. NEWSLETTER ISSUE NO.7 P A G E 8 LEGAL AWARENESS CAMPAIGN PROGRAMME FOR STUDENTS SP Aizawl organized Awareness Campaign on IT Act and POCSO Act at Govt. K.M. Higher Sec- Helen Lowry HS School, Aizawl ondary School on 16.06.2017 in which more than 300 students attended the programme. Similar awareness campaign was also organized at Her- mon School, Dinthar and Helen Lowry HS School. The students were appraised about the various le- gal provisions of IT Act and POCSO Act. Govt. K.M. HS School, Aizawl International day against Drugs and Trafficking observed with Schools by different Police Stations of Aizawl District NEWSLETTER ISSUE NO.7 P A G E 9 INTENSIVE DRIVE AGAINST DRUG MENACE AND CHILD SEXUAL ABUSE. A campaign called "Team Entu " (meaning "Team Enlightener") was launched by SP Champhai to create awareness against Drugs and Sexual abuse. The youth of the society participated in this campaign in coordination of district police. SP Mamit launched "Operation Invenna” (meaning "Operation Protection") under which the 3 (three) sub-divisions formed “Team Chhantu” (meaning “Team Protector”) under the leadership of the respective SDPOs. All the teams took first step by engaging interactive sessions with students on topic ‘Crime against Women and Children’ with emphasis on POCSO Act. Through discussion and innovative methods, preventive strategies were discussed. Child Welfare Committee under DCPU were also engaged.
