P786 Edmonton Region 240 kV Line Upgrades P850 South and West of Edmonton Transmission Development P1590 Fort McMurray West 500 kV Line 2 Projects Under Construction Needs Information Documents and Facility Applications have been approved by the Alberta Utilities Commission for the following projects. Construction is ongoing or set to begin. 2.1 System Projects Project 787 Southern Alberta Transmission Reinforcement Updated The project involves the implementation of a 240 kV loop in the Southern Alberta region to allow for future connection of wind power and to move this power to the Calgary area through three power corridors: from Whitla to West Brooks in the east from Peigan/Windy Flats to Foothills in the center from Goose Lake to Langdon in the west, through the existing 500 kV transmission line 1201L The project is operational with the exception of several components that are either cancelled or are being amended in the process of being cancelled, as indicated
