The narrative in each arc is compelling and there are a few solid moments here and there. However, each arc also has flaws that slightly weaken them. This makes this volume easier to recommend for serious fans of Superman, Traci 13, or Booster Gold but harder to recommend to fans just looking for good comics. Flashpoint: The World of Flashpoint Featuring Superman collects a series of pretty average story arcs. However, it also does Flashpoint: World of Flashpoint Superman have stories that are downright bad or that are completely uninteresting. In fact, if you truly care about the main character of a story, there are often moments that are truly interesting or exciting. In this way, the collection will most directly appeal to fans of the characters this volume focuses on, including Superman, Traci 13, or Flashpoint: World of Flashpoint Superman Gold. The story is sweet, meaningful, and easily the most compelling story of this collection. The only problem is that the connection between Superman and Lois Lane is a bit weird and leads to a conclusion that even the text admits is corny. The next story arc, written by Rex Ogle, follows Traci 13 as she tries to prevent her father from killing millions of people in order to bring an end to the war between Atlantis and the Amazons. It is an emotional battle between father and daughter that touches on interesting topics regarding the efficacy of war and the viability of overwhelming force. For the most part, this tie-in is successful. Flashpoint: World of Flashpoint Superman, The World of Flashpoint Fea turing Superman tells a quick story about the origins of a character briefly seen in the main Flashpoint event. The origin story is moderately interesting and slightly expands the overall narrative of this event. The artwork in The World of Flashpoint Featuring Superman trends positive throughout the entire volume. They look great and are laid out in a way that reflects the tone of the reading experience, shifting from more structured to more chaotic layouts depending on the nature of the story. In general, the artwork in this volume is pleasing and helps enhance the Flashpoint: World of Flashpoint Superman experience. I mean, you still kind of need to read that one to understand what's happened in the FP Flashpoint: World of Flashpoint Superman, but I thought the writing was just more interesting for Superman's story. Traci 13 was not a character I was familiar with, but I ended up being really interested in those issues! Would love to read more about her, if anyone knows where I can find something? Booster and I love Booster had a somewhat duller st I actually liked this quite a bit more than the Flashpoint: World of Flashpoint Superman story with Wonder Woman vs Flashpoint: World of Flashpoint Superman. Booster and I love Booster had a somewhat duller storyline than I thought he would, but it was still fun to see him show up for this. I'm just going to let this one hang there Overall, pretty good volume if you are interested in the Flashpoint stuff. View all 11 comments. I wasn't expecting much from this volume, but the Superman story was quite innovative, with a narrative angle I wasn't expecting at all. It's really kind of a scary what if about Superman's origins. He is not the man Flashpoint: World of Flashpoint Superman know but that doesn't mean he doesn't come into his own as much as he's able. I liked the theme of villainy not necessarily starting from a place of pure evil or self-interest. To my mind, some of the worst villains are true believers or fundamentalists. Their intense belief in t I wasn't expecting much from this volume, but the Superman story was quite innovative, with a narrative angle I wasn't expecting at all. Their intense Flashpoint: World of Flashpoint Superman in their cause can lead to committing atrocious acts in the course of the mission. In this case, it makes for a disturbing story. I really loved Lois Lane. Normally, I'm not a fan, but the Flashpoint situation seems to bring out the best in her character. The Booster Gold story was interesting, and I think it shows him as heroic in ways I haven't previously encountered. In other words, he doesn't come off as inept and fixated Flashpoint: World of Flashpoint Superman looking heroic. He has to deal with well-meaning military who decide to harness Doomsday as a weapon, but fail Flashpoint: World of Flashpoint Superman realize that he cannot be controlled. It wasn't the strongest volume here, but it was pretty good. Traci 13 is not a character I'm familiar with, but this story was very good. Traci finds herself in an adversarial relationship with her father, who both want to save the world, but in vastly different ways. Very intense look at how grief can tear a family apart. Closest to horror in this volume out of the stories. A bunch of antiheroes have become guerilla warriors for the cause of England, including Cantubury Cricket, who has a very checkered past. I liked it, but it ended a bit too abruptly for my tastes. Overall a very good volume of this series. Sep 25, Jesse A rated it really liked it Shelves: the-keeping-stackgraphic-novels. A much better Flashpoint companion book. Well done. Even has a solid Booster Gold story so bonus half star. Mar 05, John Yelverton rated it did not like it. An absolutely awful and pathetic excuse for a Superman story. Jul 17, Gary Butler rated it really liked it Shelves: graphic-novels. Number out of on my all time book list. Very cool. Project Superman - 3. Booster Gold - 2. The Canterbury Cricket - 1. Completely unnecessary. Average Rating - 2. Apr 24, Chris Lemmerman rated it it was ok Shelves: comics-and-manga-read. The plot doesn't focus on Superman at all until the final issue, instead having the Flashpoint version of Apollo as the point of view character, and whilst it does fill in some gaps in the main Flashpoint series like where Superman flies off to once he escapes from Project: Flashpoint: World of Flashpoint Superman, it really isn't that rivetting a story. Add to that some very messy art from the usually infallable Gene Ha, and this just didn't hit many good notes with me. Shame, since Snyder is usually very reliable. World of Flashpoint, by Rex Ogle and Eduardo Francisco is next and thankfully it turns out a better story than the previous mini-series. Focusing on Traci as she travels around the world in order to try and stop her father from destroying million people, this mini-series is a great glimpse at a few fan favourite characters and gives a more rounded view of the Flashpoint world as a whole. FLASHPOINT: THE WORLD OF FLASHPOINT FEATURING SUPERMAN | DC Is it me or do these Flashpoint collections seem pretty random? Why isn't the Cricket in the same collection as his own team Lois Lane and the Resistance Flashpoint: World of Flashpoint Superman example? Yeah, to me it would have made more sense to collect Lois Lane and the Resistance in this volume instead of the Wonder Woman one, even though it was written by the DnA duo and the Amazons figure heavily in it.
