Guard Ivy Smith Jr. ranks ninth in NCAA Division I men’s basketball Alcorn State 94, Mississippi Valley State 90 with 165 free throws made. Alabama State 69, Alabama A&M 50 Texas Southern 86, Jackson State 75 - Grambling State has already tied their high water mark for most conference wins in a season Mon, Feb. 12 dating back to the 2006-07 season when the Tigers won 10 games. YANEL REED - ALCORN STATE This is the third time that Smith Jr. has captured this award this season. MOSBY, ALCORN STATE school win streak to 10 games. He averaged 48.6 percent (18-of- 37) from the field in the two games. Smith scored 28 points, on GUARD – CHRIS THOMAS, SOUTHERN 9-of-16 shooting, with six assists, five rebounds and five steals FORWARD – RODNEY SIMEON, ALABAMA STATE in a 90-85 win at Prairie View A&M. In conference games only, Smith Jr. ranks sixth in scoring with Predicted Order of Finish (points received in voting) 17.2 points per game and in third in assists per game with 4.8, Texas Southern (171) ninth in free throw percentage (.780), second in steals (2.2 per game), and first in minutes per game (35.9). If the tournament is won by an NCAA tournament- Alabama A&M eligible team, that team gets the AQ. If the tournament is Donnie Marsh - Record at AAMU 2-23 (1st year) / Overall 33-106 (5th year) won by a team ineligible for NCAA postseason, the team (among those eligible for the NCAA tournament) that Alabama State advances the furthest in the SWAC tournament will be the league’s AQ.
