The OMHA is committed to providing an environment in which all individuals are treated with respect. Members and participants of the OMHA shall conduct themselves at all times in a manner consistent with the values of the OMHA which include fairness, integrity and mutual respect. During the course of all OMHA activities and events, members shall avoid behaviour which brings the OMHA or the sport of hockey into disrepute, including but not limited to abusive use of alcohol, use of non-medical drugs and use of alcohol by minors. OMHA members and participants shall at all times adhere to the OMHA operational policies and procedures, to rules and regulations governing OMHA events and activities, and to rules and regulations governing any competitions in which the member participates on behalf of the OMHA. Members and participants of the OMHA shall not engage in any activity or behaviour which interferes with a competition or with any player or team’s preparation for a competition, or which endangers the safety of others. 2 Members of the OMHA shall refrain from comments or behaviours, which are disrespectful, offensive, abusive, racist or sexist. In particular, behaviour, which constitutes harassment, abuse or bullying, will not be tolerated. Failure to comply with this Code of Conduct may result in disciplinary action, in accordance with the OMHA Code of Conduct Policies & Procedures, including but not limited to, the loss or suspension of certain or all privileges connected with the respective Member Association in the OMHA including the opportunity to participate in the OMHA and its Member Association activities and events, both present and future. 3 VISION To be the leaders in community sport. So many things in our daily lives have changed and the hockey we all grew up with is no different. As we work through these trying times, the OMHA will continue to work to provide a safe welcoming environment while making the hockey experience as enjoyable as possible. On behalf of the Board, we are working hard with our Associations to serve our hockey community and ensure the continued success of the Ontario Minor Hockey Association and our Member Associations. As today’s leaders in community sport, we must ensure the next generation of leaders shows the same passion for the game of hockey. We will focus on what makes the game so special – the friendships created that will last a lifetime and the life skills learned that carry far beyond the ice. The thousands of volunteers, no matter their part, dedicate countless hours every season to help deliver and grow the game in communities across the province. At no time in our history is this more evident. Our volunteers have stepped up during very trying times and made sure hockey, in whatever form it may take this year, goes on and creates a fun experience for all. We appreciate and value your contributions. I want to acknowledge the OMHA Board for their work this season and for stepping up when faced with this new adversity. The OMHA Board of Directors will do everything we can to return to tradition hockey as soon as we can safely do so. Please stay safe and support our players and communities as we slowly return to the game of hockey we all love.
