The two day International Conference on Yoga organized by the Ministry r:,f AyUSH at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi on 21-22 June,2015 was inaugurated by Shri Narendra Modi, the Hon'ble Prime Minister of India and the valedictory function was chaired by Shri Rajnath Singh, the Hon'ble Home Minister of India. The Conference was attended by more than 1500 pafticipants, which included more than 50 foreign experts, besides resource persons/experts from renowned Indian Yoga Institutes/Universities. This year again, the Ministry of AyUl3H proposes to orga nize a 2-3 days lrrternational conference, to be inaugurate d on 21 st June, 20 j6. The conference is likely to be held at \rigyan Bhawan, New Delhi. Yogla experts or enthusiasts from Ma aysia who are interested to participate in the said conference may write to [email protected], arong with their nanres and passpoft details latest by '18th May 2016, to enable the Ministry of AYUSH to obtain necessary clearances for their visit to India and also to make necessary arrangements for their comfortable sl,av. C.ertain types of diseases are curable through yoga exercises and some can be prevented, said MIC President and Malaysian Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr S Subramaniam. In conjunction to that, the World Yoga Day was jointly organized by High Commission of India in Kuala Lunrpur and non- governmental organizations. The second World Yoga Day is being celebrated on June 21 this year. Dr. Subra added that Yoga can be said as an alternative medicine which can be obtained in easiest ways to keep one's body and mind calm. lt is very encouraging to learn that in Malaysia, people of all races practice Yoga. At the same time, he mentioned that alternative medical treatments are also available in Malaysia, whereby the health ministry has approved eight of them, including Ayurveda and Siddha besides Chinese and Muslim healing practices.
