The entire team ventured down to Peru to experience the luxury river ships of Delfin Amazon Cruises, Kiki got to experience the last Iceland ProCruises trip of the season ("Natural Wonders of Greenland & Iceland") and come October, Jessie & Jane will be in Tierra del Fuego with Australis. Famed Amazon Explorer Joins Delfin Trip A world­renowned expert on Amazon tribes and Incan civilization, Canadian explorer and author John Hemming will be guest lecturing aboard Delfin II during a five night/four day cruise that commences on February 10th, 2016. Hemming has published several best­selling books on South American topics including The Conquest of the Incas, Tribes of the Amazon Basin and The Search for El Dorado. His insightful and highly informative lectures will help passengers expand their knowledge of the region as they cruise along one of the world’s great rivers. Hemming will also be available for questions and discussion. Former director of the Royal Geographic Society in London and one of the founders of the South American Explorers Club, Hemming is best known as one of the survivors of the ill­fated Iriri River Expedition of 1961, which was ambushed by a then­unknown Amazon tribe called the Panará. In the early 1970s he returned to Brazil on a wide­ranging expedition that visited 45 different indigenous groups, including several that had never before had contact with the outside world. Iceland ProCruises Wraps Successful First Season IPC just lowered the curtain down on its very successful debut season in the North Atlantic with a cruise called "The Natural Wonders of Greenland & Iceland" from Aug 27th to Sept 7th. IPC Adds Whales and Aurora IPC just announced that it will extend its 2015­16 cruise season in the North Atlantic with the addition of a brand new Iceland program called "Northern Lights and Whales – Iceland on Land and at Sea." This seven­day theme journey via ship and bus is scheduled for Sept 17th­23rd, 2016. This is one of the prime times for viewing the Aurora Borealis and also a season when many whale species frequent the waters around Iceland. Those aboard Ocean Diamond for the voyage will have access to special shore excursions and lectures dealing with the "giants of the sea" and the spectacular Northern Lights.
