District Attorney Investigators are charged with performing those functions entrusted to a peace officer of the State of California pursuant to Penal Code §830.1, and empowered to act as an Investigator for the District Attorney of Napa County. As a representative of the District Attorney's Office, Investigators are expected to at all times remain within the bounds of the law, the Canons of Ethics of the legal profession and the Law Enforcement Code of Ethics.
