We, at the Northern Raiders AFC are extremely thankful of you for taking the time to peruse our proposal and are hoping you find the following a perfect match for your organisation. We believe that your organisation has the potential of reaping the awards of being associated with the AFLQ Talented Player Pathway and the associated players will benefit greatly from your support. The Northern Raiders AFC was formed in 1996 as a result of a rapid rise in development in Australian Football in Queensland and the lack of an elite pathway for Queensland’s outstanding Australian Football athletes. The Northern Raiders AFC is dedicated to talent development from the Under 12 to Under 16 age group. We are a representative club whose mission is to foster talent and develop progression through the KooGa AFLQ Talented Player Program. Over the past 17 years the Northern Raiders AFC has formed part of an elite under age pathway that services Metropolitan and Rural Queensland. Our program is headlined by the Under 16 State Championships under pinned by the Under 14 “Young Raiders”, as well as our Summer Development Programs for athletes from 11 through to 16 years of age. The program covers a broad range of areas that are applicable to football including education on diet, hydration, racial vilification and respect and responsibility programs to enhance the experience of all athletes. As a sponsor of the Northern Raiders AFC you will not only be supporting one of the most successful regions in Queensland but your organisation will also immediately become affiliated with the AFL, Australia’s number one sporting code and the most professional family focussed code in Queensland. As a sponsor for the Northern Raiders Football Club you will have your company branding exposed via the elite talent pathway in the Northern Suburbs of Brisbane. A program that has produced many AFL footballers including Mitch Hahn (Western Bulldogs), Jamie Charman and Robert Copeland (Brisbane Lions) as well as current players Cheynee Stiller (Brisbane), Ben Warren (North Melbourne) and Brendan Whitecross (Hawthorn). We are excited at the possibility of working closely with your organisation to improve the standard of AFL across the Brisbane North Region and Queensland as a whole. Regards, Lachlan Harris – Club Development Officer EXECUTIVE SUMMARY The Northern Raiders Football Club is the regional development arm of the AFL Queensland Talented Player Pathway encompassing the Brisbane North area and providing training and development for elite junior Australian Football players. Goals and Objectives: Our goal is to provide opportunities to junior footballers to improve their skills and abilities through education on and off the football field TARGET MARKETS The key market segment that has been identified includes families with children between the ages of five and eighteen. Primary Target Market: Elite level footballers between twelve and sixteen: This is the reason the Northern Raiders AFC was formed, to give elite level footballers an avenue to develop and progress through to Senior State League and AFL football. We have not only developed programs around State Championships but also have development programs over summer to improve the skill sets of selected players in the region. Secondary Target Markets: Students undertaking development programs through schools: With our Future Stars and Sunfire Superstars programs we identify students through AFL Queensland’s school programs that have the ability to play AFL though don’t currently play for a junior club. The Northern Raiders is integral in developing the skill sets of these children and introducing them to our sport. Tertiary target market includes: Junior Club players, parents and supporters in Brisbane North Region Through our football network we work with the eleven junior clubs in our region to promote our programs and improve the talent of selected players across the region. This enables our club to reach an even larger audience. How can Northern Raiders AFC help you reach your target market? The Northern Raiders AFC doesn’t only want your help but we want to help increase your customer base and reward your customers as well. As stated our target market is quite broad, incorporating families with children for a six year window it creates a large target market and one that surely fits with your organisation. Along with this aligning your organisation with the AFL opens you to a large number of fans that can become customers as well. Finally we will also be able to help you reward your clients hence improving your target base; we provide all our sponsors with complimentary tickets to Brisbane Lions home games (upon request) to treat your clients. MARKETING PLAN Marketing Plan The Northern Raiders AFC has created a media plan that targets the vital markets of the event whilst creating great publicity and interest to the talent pathway Championship Signage Across the duration of each of the State Championships we will have a 3m x 1m banner which will be stationed on the fence during all championship games as well as alongside the team at quarter and three quarter time. Additional signage for your organisation can be organised to be placed alongside ours. Signage at O’Callaghan Park, Zillmere As sponsors of the Northern Raiders your organisation logo will be used on all signage around the O’Callaghan Park facility. This facility is not only used by Northern Raiders but also by the AFLQ Development Program, Metropolitan North School Sport, Zillmere Womens AFC, Zillmere Junior AFC and a number of other user groups including Aspley Devils Rugby League. The traffic for the facility has been recorded at 8,000 people a week, 300,000 per annum. AFL School Ambassadors AFL Queensland has an ambassador program where teachers promote AFL programs within their schools. This translates through to our Raiders programs as well where they talk to athletic talented students and encourage them to come down and trial at one of our programs. Future Stars/Sunfire Superstars Promotion In order to find new talent AFL Queensland Development Staff work in conjunction with the Northern Raiders to identify talent for the Future Stars and Sunfire SuperStars from primary school programs and competitions.
