We have gotten the SFDPP grades put in and they are up to Institute of Intelligence and Espionage and Institute of International Studies. I want to Thank Jayden Tyronian and Tony Knopes for their support in getting these complete. Please be patient, as we are still moving down the Institutes. I want to take time to mention the STARFLEET Data Privacy Policy. STARFLEET Academy is working on getting the recert course set. Recertification is a yearly task that we all have to take if we are in a position that requires it such as the Academy. This is a mandated course from the Admiralty Board to protect the privacy of our members. So, remember to take your course before your year is up. Those who have not taken SFDPP 101 and SFDPP 102 need to complete them first. If these two courses are done, then within the year you have to take SFDPP 2021. Then the following year you will take the next course. This course can and will change, based on the privacy laws in the world. Therefore, the DPO and I will be re- viewing the course before it is released. If the course is not taken within the year and you are in a position where you have member’s data, you will lose your access and your position. This is not something to take lightly. Please take the course. On to other news. We are still in need of people that are willing to join the staff of both the SFA and SFMCA. Please go out to Humanoid Resources at https://sfi.org/humanoidresources/ and review the openings. Major General TJ Allen, MACO Chief of Educational Services 2 SFA VICE COMMANDANT'S LOG FRANKLIN NEWMAN III The Commandant is on deployment. So, as her Vice, I am making the log entry this quarter. I initially joined STARFLEET in the mid-1990s, was a member for a few years, then left. I rejoined in 2009. I joined the staff in 2010 as the Director of the College of Cryptography. I am currently the Vice Commandant, Chief of RecognitionServices, Dean of IOLS, and Director of 3 colleges. We are going through many changes in Academy. There have been some closures and some mergers. We are still in the process of importing grades into the Database from the shutdown. I know there have been several members asking about Boothby Awards. Hopefully, we will begin the long process of getting caught up soon. I would like to wait until all the grades have been imported, but maybe we can begin sooner. We are always looking to expand our offerings. If you feel that you have an idea for a college, put together a proposal and submit it to me for the Course Development Committee to look over. The requirements can be found in the STARFLEET Academy Orientation Course (SAOC) 200-level manual. The Headquarters Staff is always available if you have any questions. Please feel free to contact us. RADM Franklin Newman III Vice Commandant 3 SFMCA SUPERINTENDENT'S LOG S CHRISTOPHER BOGGS The MARINE Academy is making headway towards QAM formatting. There are several courses that the exams have essay questions that will be hard to change over, but we’re researching ways to meet the needs of the students and the administration. It’s just taking time. The SFMC Academy is being merged over to the SFA grading scale. All exams and manuals will reflect the grading scale within the next several months. This will involve closing schools for a period of time, as the courses are corrected, and then moved over to SFA. As with all courses and procedures, please follow the chain of command. Students have 10 weeks to complete an exam. Once submitted, unless the course is already in QAM, please allow the director/assistant director time to acknowledge receipt and grade the exam. If you have not heard anything from the director in a period of a week, please make contact with them via email or the Moodle site. WE NEED YOU! Marine Instructors and Assistant Instructors are needed – Please visit the SFI HR page to see what is available. If you have any questions regarding becoming an instructor, please contact TRACOM or myself and we will be happy to respond. Ready To Serve. Brigadier S.
