No previous experience using an IBM 3270-type display station or IBM PC that is connected to a mainframe host computer and/or is part of a network is necessary. However, such experience can be helpful. Specifically, experience and familiarity with the following is recommended: 1. IBM PCs, IBM PC DOS Version 2.1 through 3.2, and the IBM PC Local Area Network and IBM Top View 1.1 programs. 2. Host computer applications used via a host-attached IBM PC or IBM 3270-type display stations or terminals. First-time users should develop some understanding of the concepts and capabilities of networking and emulation in order to appreciate fully IBM PC 3270 Emulation's potential uses.
