School of Rock The Musical Audition Workshop: Saturday, January 11, 2020 -- 10:00am-12:00pm The hilarious premise of a film, wherein unemployed wannabe rock star Dewey Finn (played by Jack Black) poses as a substitute teacher at a prestigious private school. Woefully unprepared and bored with his new duties, Dewey decides to tap into some of the musical talent of his students and soon an act where he is the lead singer and guitarist and enters ‘School Of Rock’ into a battle of the bands competition. This outstanding show is based on the Golden Globe nominated movie directed by Richard Linklater (Bad News Bears, Dazed and Confused, Boyhood). Open roles for boys, girls and teens. AUDITION Saturday, January 25, 2020 ● 9:00am - 12:00pm ● Call backs: 1:00pm - 4:00pm Recommended Ages: 11-18; Plenty of roles for teens and tweens. All who audition will ​ be cast in the show. Typical cast size is 35-50. Those who “do” play an instrument will audition on it. Being able to “airplay” is acceptable for those who do not play. Roles in the production include: Students, Parents, Teachers, and Dewey’s friends. There will be a role for everyone.
