The key purpose of the WA is to present a clear picture of what happens with waste in the Hamilton area, what forces are driving current behaviours and outcomes, and to highlight the key issues and the basic options for addressing those issues. This document is based on the Waste Assessment Template developed for the Councils of the Waikato and Bay of Plenty regions, and includes reference material from a number of sources.
