The series was appraised in its entirety and either selected for permanent preservation on the grounds of historical importance, recommended for disposal or offered back to Administrative & Democratic Services (which succeeded the County Secretary's Department) for ongoing administrative purposes. It includes a small proportion of records inherited from the former UDC s that had been abolished in the earlier county re­ organisation of 1974, as well as records created by or for Gwynedd County Council.
