Monitoring results (Preliminary report) Analyses of radioactive cesium of the water in outdoor swimming pools at schools, etc. There is no facility where the level of the radioactive cesium detected is higher than the control target value for tap water (radioactive cesium 10Bq/kg). Not detectable – 4.08Bq/L (Not detectable in 142 facilities out of 153) Cs-134: Not detectable – 1.38Bq/L Cs-137: Not detectable – 2.70Bq/L 4. Handling of monitoring results As for the use of outdoor swimming pools at schools in Fukushima Prefecture, the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology issued a notice on April 10, 2012, which indicates that there is no problem with using tap water controlled under the control target value (radioactive cesium 10Bq/kg), and it is not necessary to restrict the use of outdoor pools even if the level of the radioactive cesium is a little over the control target value. In cases where radioactive cesium is detected, measures shall be taken, such as preventing leaves, soil, sand, etc. from getting into pools, as needed.
