Professional experience Francesco Clementi area’s of expertise include Italian as well Comparative Constitutional Law, and also European and Italian Politics, especially in the field of institutions, political parties and electoral laws. He is a leading-professional scholar of the new generation in those fields and recently, as author and co-editor, Francesco has published «The Italian Constitution. He has lectured at many universities in Italy and abroad, including in United States, Loyola University Law School, Notre Dame; in France, at the Paris-I (Sorbonne); in Spain, at the Complutense (Madrid); in United Kingdom, at the King’s College and at the London School of Economics. He was also visiting professor in Jerusalem-Mount Scopus University-IL (Harry and Michael Sacher Institute for Legislative Research and Comparative Law) and in Morocco at the Ain Sebaa' University in Casablanca (Faculty of the «Sciences Juridiques, Economiques et Sociales »). Clementi is a member of the following professional associations: the “International Association of Constitutional Law” (I.A.C.L), the “International Society of Public Law” (I.C.O.N.), the “Associazione Italiana di Diritto Comparato” (A.I.D.C), the “Astrid Foundation”, an Italian think tank in the field of European and National institutions, public policies, public administration’s reform, market regulation and e-government and the recent political-cultural think tank “Volta”. Starting from the beginning of his university period, he spent him selves in public opinion to sustain the reasons of the change the Italian political-institutional system towards a better and more accountable democracy. In 2013-2014, he was appointed by the Presidente of the Italian Republic Giorgio Napolitano and the Prime Minister of Italy Enrico Letta in the special Commission of experts to define for the Italian Parliament a report on Constitutional and Institutional Reforms (so called: “Commissione dei Saggi per le riforme”). Education and Training Francesco Clementi was educated at the University of La Sapienza (Political Science and Law) and the University of Florence (Law); and he received his D.Phil. from University “La Sapienza” of Rome. In 1999, he was recipient of a scholarship to study for a six months in the fully-intensive Seminar on Parliamentary Studies "Silvano Tosi" at the Florence University, co-sponsored by the Italian Parliament. In 1998, he was awarded the of the Annual Prize “Primo Levi Foundation” for the best thesis degree on the State of Israel (topic: “The Direct Election of the Israeli Prime Minister).
