September 18, 2016 http://twitter.com/NFL345 SEVEN FROM SUNDAY – WEEK 2 A look at seven statistical highlights from games played at 1:00 p.m. ET and 4:00 p.m. ET on Sunday, September 18, the second week of the 2016 season. Nine games in Week 2 have been decided by seven points or fewer. Through the first two weeks of the season – with two games left to play – there have been 20 games decided by seven points or fewer, the second-most in a season’s first two weeks in NFL history (22 in 2013). The nine games decided by seven points or fewer in Week 2: New York Jets 37, Buffalo 31 (Thursday); Baltimore 25, Cleveland 20; Tennessee 16, Detroit 15; Houston 19, Kansas City 12; New England 31, Miami 24; New York Giants 16, New Orleans 13; Dallas 27, Washington 23; Los Angeles 9, Seattle 3; Atlanta 35, Oakland 28. Tight ends GREG OLSEN (78 yards) of Carolina and VANCE MC DONALD (75 yards) of San Francisco each had a 75+ yard touchdown reception in the Panthers’ 46-27 win over the 49ers. It marked the first game in NFL history in which a tight end on each team had a touchdown catch of at least 75 yards. Arizona wide receiver LARRY FITZGERALD had a touchdown catch in the Cardinals’ 40-7 win over Tampa Bay, his 101st career touchdown reception. San Diego tight end ANTONIO GATES had a touchdown reception in the Chargers’ 38-14 victory over Jacksonville, his 105th career touchdown catch. Fitzgerald (Arizona) and Gates (San Diego) are two of only six players in NFL history to record at least 100 touchdown receptions with a team. The other four players to accomplish the feat are enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame: JERRY RICE (176 TDs with San Francisco), MARVIN HARRISON (128 TDs with Indianapolis), CRIS CARTER (110 TDs with Minnesota) and STEVE LARGENT (100 TDs with Seattle). Houston rookie wide receiver WILL FULLER had four catches for 104 yards in the Texans’ 19- 12 win over Kansas City. Fuller, who had five catches for 107 yards in Week 1, is the first rookie drafted in the first round to have at least 100 receiving yards in each of his team’s first two games of a season. Fuller joins DON LOONEY (1940) and DE SEAN JACKSON (2008) as the only players in NFL history to have at least 100 receiving yards in each of his first two career games. Texans defensive end J.J. WATT had 1.5 sacks and a fumble recovery in the win over Kansas City. Watt has 76 sacks in 82 career games and is the second-fastest player to reach 75 sacks since the sack became an official statistic in 1982. Watt passed Pro Football Hall of Famer BRUCE SMITH, who reached 75 sacks in 85 games. Pro Football Hall of Famer REGGIE WHITE holds the record as the fastest to 75 sacks, accomplishing the feat in 62 games. Detroit wide receiver ANQUAN BOLDIN had a touchdown catch in the Lions’ 16-15 loss to Tennessee, his first TD with Detroit. Boldin is the second player in NFL history (TERRELL OWENS) to have at least 1,000 career receptions (1,016) and record a touchdown catch with four different teams (Arizona, San Francisco, Baltimore, Detroit). In that contest, Titans wide receiver ANDRE JOHNSON caught the game-winning touchdown catch with 1:13 remaining, his first TD with Tennessee. Johnson has 1,057 career catches and has now recorded a touchdown reception with three different teams (Houston, Indianapolis, Tennessee). He is one of only five players in NFL history to accomplish the feat, joining Owens and Boldin along with Pro Football Hall of Famers JERRY RICE and CRIS CARTER. New York Giants quarterback ELI MANNING passed for 368 yards in the Giants’ 16-13 win over New Orleans. Manning has 44,762 career passing yards and surpassed DREW BLEDSOE (44,611) to move into 10th place in NFL history. In that same game, Saints quarterback DREW BREES passed for 263 yards. Brees has 61,589 career passing yards and surpassed Pro Football Hall of Famer DAN MARINO (61,361) to move into third place in NFL history. Denver cornerback AQIB TALIB had a 46-yard interception-return touchdown in the Broncos’ 34-20 win over Indianapolis. Talib has nine career interception-return touchdowns, tied for the fourth-most in NFL history with Pro Football Hall of Famers KEN HOUSTON, DEION SANDERS and AENEAS WILLIAMS. Hall of Famer ROD WOODSON holds the NFL record with 12 interception-return touchdowns. # # # .
