Guoqiang Tian Dr. Guoqiang Tian is a Professor in Economics at Texas A&M University. He received his Ph.D. in Economics from University of Minnesota in 1987, and served on the faculty at Texas A&M University as an Assistant Professor from 1987-1991 and as an Associate Professor from 1991-1995. Professor Tian has been the Private Enterprise Research Fellow at Texas A&M University since 1995, the Special-Term Professor, Tsinghua University in China since 2002, and the Advisor of International Technology and Economy Institute, Development Research Center of the State Council of P.R. China since 2000. He was a recipient of the Alfred P. Sloan Doctoral Dissertation Fellowship, the Lewis Faculty Fellowship of the College of Liberal Arts at Texas A&M University for a period of 1996-2002, the 1996 Tamkang University Lectureship Award in Taiwan, and the 2001 Zhu Ke Zhen Lectureship award, Zhejiang University, China, 2001. He is included in Who is Who in Economics as one of the 1,200 most frequently cited economists in the world in years 1990-2000 using the Social Science Citation Index. He is ranked 282 among the overall rankings (the average ranking on 11 publication ranking methods widely adopted in economics profession) and 504 by citation of top 1,000 worldwide economists for the periods of 1990-2000. Dr. Tian served as the President of the Chinese Economist Society (in USA) from 1991-1992 and the President of the Chinese Professors of Social Sciences in the United States from 1995-1997. He received Honorary Professorships from Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Wuhan Institute of Economics, Wuhan University of Technology, and Wuhan University of Hydraulic and Electric Engineering in 1993. Professor Guoqiang Tian has been author or co-author of over 60 publications in major eco- nomics and mathematics journals. Dr. Tian’s research interests include economic mechanism design, mathematical economics, general economic theory, dynamic optimization, game theory, transitional economics, and Chinese economies. He is Co-Editor of Annals of Economics and Finance. He also served on the editorial boards of China Economics Review and Modern China Studies, American Review of China Studies, and China Economic Quarterly..
