Bottom Line: In Colossians we see the Supremacy and the Sufficiency of Jesus and how that compels us to good works. Authentic Community: 1. Share with the group something that you read in your personal quiet time or that God spoke to you about that challenged you. How is God leading you to change as a result? 2. Share with the group one of the more challenging aspects of the past week. What is God trying to teach you in the middle of this situation? Grace & Truth: 3. Read Colossians 1:15:23. What does it means that Jesus is supreme, not just in this passage but in your life? How does his supremacy inform your decision making and day-to-day life? 4. One of the things Paul says in this passage is that those who are in Christ are "free from accusation." Explain how the enemy uses guilt over your past and present mistakes to discourage you. How should the Christian think about past sins? What has been helpful to you in this regard? 5. Paul speaks with joy about the concept of suffering. How is this possible? How do you view your current sufferings and how can you think about even suffering as something that has a purpose? Action Over Words: 6. How can you challenge one another to follow Jesus more closely this week? What types of accountability would be helpful to you? 7. Read through the book of Colossians this week and meditate on what the Spirit is saying to you through Paul's letter.
