The 2018-2019 academic year promises to be a particularly special year for the GGS, as we will be celebrating the launch of our Bachelor of Music; Performance (Honours) program, the first degree granting program to be offered by RCM in its storied history. We are already eagerly looking forward to the 2019 GGS Convocation ceremony when we will be awarding RCM degrees to our undergraduates for the first time. This year will also mark the 10th anniversary of the opening of the acoustically superb Koerner Hall, the centerpiece of The Royal Conservatory's beautifully renovated and highly acclaimed state-of-the-art facility, the TELUS Centre for Performance and Learning. Koerner Hall, as expected, has had a profound impact on GGS student life. All of our Royal Conservatory Orchestra concerts and the Prelude concerts that precede them, our spring opera, and events such as the finals of our annual Concerto Competition take place in this beautiful hall. In addition, you will be able to attend over the course of the year a vast array of professional concerts given in Koerner Hall by many of the world's finest performing artists. Whether you are a new or returning student I am sure you will find that this beautiful hall and our beautifully renovated building, with its magical blend of old and new and its sheer architectural beauty will be an inspiring and stimulating place for you to pursue your dreams as young musicians. I look forward to sharing an exciting year at The Glenn Gould School with you, and you can be sure all of us on the GGS Administrative team will do everything possible to ensure your year is productive and artistically rewarding.
