We are very honoured that he has graced our Annual Day with his presence and we look forward to hearing him speak to us this evening I also take this opportunity to extend a very warm welcome to Mr.RajendraSankhe, COO,Indo Gulf Fertilisers and Chairman of the School Management Committee, Mrs. and Mr. Ram Laddha , Jt.VP (F&C),Mrs and Mr. Manoj Jha , Functional Head HR and I would like to thank the School Management Committee for the faith it has reposed in me and the support and guidance it has always extended to me. The school has charted a very active path in the last few years and this progress has been possible due to their enlightened vision and backing. Each year lays the foundation for ideas and improvement in the year to come .As our journey continues, with the right balance of a progressive attitude and sound values , we take on new challenges, adopt new benchmarks under the dynamic stewardship of Dr.Ganguli, who has understood the educational needs of this vast and diverse country. We recognize that our pupils will need 21st century competencies, in order to succeed in the future. Therefore, the aim is to develop in every child, a confident person , a self-directed learner, a concerned citizen, and an active contributor, so that when our pupils leave us they are secure in their abilities, strong in their principles and confident to face challenges..I am confident that our children will be on a constant quest for knowledge and skills. We look back at various events and happenings that touched us, inspired us and taught us. We had set standards and goals for ourselves and strived to achieve them – be it in the area of academics, sports, events, discipline, and leadership. Ladies and Gentlemen, when I sat down to write my Annual report, I asked myself what the purpose of this report is. One obvious aim is to share with the parents and other stakeholders all the activities, efforts and achievements of the school. It is also a chance to publicly applaud the sterling performances of many of our students. But I felt that there must be a reason behind what I choose to include. Then I got some inspiration from an advertisement put out by Tata Steel, which used to come on television. The visuals depicted a wide variety of activities and at the end there was a caption which said – “We also make steel”. And so, ladies and gentlemen, I propose to reverse my Annual report this year, to first talk of all the other areas of activity that the school and the students are involved in, then like Tata Steel, I would like to end my report with the results of the Board examinations and say “We also get the Marks”. I believe that the broader aim of education isto develop the spirit, mind and body- Certain skills are needed to make a success of life after the degrees have been won. The development of communication and social skills is considered so vital in the present day employment scenario. Other activities do not hamper academic achievement; in fact, occasionally enhance it. The Inter House Activities, conducted from time to time , to celebrate special days, events ,National Festivals and many other occasions give the students ample opportunities to explore their potential, showcase their talent and are marked by strong House spirit, enthusiasm and healthy competition.
