FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE NOVEMBER 30, 2010 RIVER ROCK CASINO RESORT PRESENTS TOM PAPA HOST OF NBC’s THE MARRIAGE REF SATURDAY, APRIL 2 Richmond, BC – Tom Papa was personally chosen by Jerry Seinfeld to serve as host of NBC’s The Marriage Ref and has toured with him for the past eight years. As a veteran stand-up comedian, Papa has had two specials air on Comedy Central with Steven Soderbergh (Oceans 11) set to direct his next special. A familiar face to late night television, Papa has made numerous appearances on NBC’s The Tonight Show with Jay Leno and CBS’s Late Show with David Letterman. His debut comedy album, Calm, Cool, & Collected was released in 2005. As an actor, Papa starred opposite Matt Damon in Soderbergh’s 2009 film, The Informant and opposite Paul Gimatti in the animated feature, The Haunted World of El Super Beasto. He also had a voiceover role in the 2007 DreamWorks feature, Bee Movie in which he served as a writer as well. Among his additional big screen credits are the films, Analyze That opposite Robert DeNiro and Comedian. In 2008, he had a recurring role opposite Julia Louis-Dreyfus on the CBS sitcom, The New Adventures of Old Christine where he played “Mike”. That same year, Papa opened his one-man show, “Only Human” to rave reviews at the prestigious Just for Laughs Festival in Montreal. He’ll be bringing his hilarious stand-up show to the River Rock Casino Resort in April, 2011.
