Music Tagging Music Tagging Unlike the Movies and TV-Shows modules, where ‘Library Manager’ is used to build and manage all info and images, the Music module relies entirely on the music files tags. There are 9 tags used: o ‘Title’ : Track Title (Required) o ‘Artist’ : Track Artist (Required) o ‘Album’ : Album Title (Required) o ‘Track’ : Track Number (Required) (‘Tracknumber’ for VorbisComment) o ‘Year’ : Album Release Year (Recommended) o ‘Genre’ : Album Genre (Recommended) o ‘AlbumArtist’ : For Compilations or featuring Artists Albums (Optional) o ‘Discnumber’ : For Multiple Disc Sets (Optional) o ‘Compilation’ : For Compilation Albums (Optional) In order for the different albums to be identified, the ‘Album’ tag must be the same. In addition, the ‘Artist’ tag must be the same, or, for compilations or featuring artists albums, the ‘AlbumArtist’ or ‘Compilation’ tag must be used. 10Muse supports the following file formats: MP3, FLAC, ALAC, OGG, AAC and WMA. The ‘Year’ and ‘Genre’ tags The ‘Year’ and ‘Genre’ tags are read from the first album track and characterize the whole album. The ‘Year’ tag is used for the sort option ‘Year’ and the ‘Genre’ tag by the filter ‘Genre’. Supported delimiters for the ‘Genre’ tag: ‘\\’, ‘\’, ‘//’, ‘/’, ‘;’. Album Cover For the album cover, the export function first looks for a ‘folder.jpg’ image inside the folder of the first album track. If that doesn’t exist, it uses the embedded image of the first album track. Single Artist Albums If the ‘Artist’ tag is the same for all tracks, the ‘AlbumArtist’ and ‘Compilation’ tags don’t have to be used. The common value of the ‘Artist’ tag will also be the Album Artist. In the Albums navigation panel of the iPad controller app, the Artist will appear in the general album info. It will not appear in the track listing. Single Artist Albums with featuring Artists If the ‘Artist’ tag is not the same for all tracks, the ‘AlbumArtist’ tag must be used with the same value for all tracks. In the Albums navigation panel of the iPad controller app, the common ‘AlbumArtist’ track value will appear in the general album info. The ‘Artist’ track values will not appear in the track listing. Compilation Albums For an album to be recognized as a Compilation album, one of the following conditions should be met: o The ‘AlbumArtist’ tag starts with ‘various’ (not case sensitive) o The ‘Compilation’ tag is set (equals ‘1’). In the Albums navigation panel of the iPad controller app, the common ‘AlbumArtist’ track value will not appear in the general album info. The ‘Artist’ track values will appear in the track listing. Multi-disc Albums The ‘Album’ tag should be the same throughout the different discs. The discs are separated with use of the ‘Discnumber’ tag. The Albums navigation panel of the iPad controller app shows a visual separation of the different discs. The album ‘Add’ buttons will add all tracks of all discs to the playlist. Lyrics Optionally, all tracks can include lyrics, by populating the ‘UNSYNCEDLYRICS’ tags field. To fully automate the tagging procedure, we recommend the ‘MediaHuman Lyrics Finder’ application. On the Playlist tab, lyrics of the currently playing song will be displayed by tapping on the Lyrics button. *If the currently playing song has no lyrics, the Lyrics button will not appear. *The song lyrics function is available only for the Squeezebox family of players. .
