You may have the appropriate Girlguiding Qualifications......but have you: 1. Told your Commissioner 2. Checked that all Volunteers 18+ have been CRB checked 3. Completed the forms and obtained Commissioner approval These 3 steps are vital parts of running a residential of any kind and ensure you are fully insured and safe on your residential. There are many different kinds of residential events e.g. sleepovers, indoor holidays and under canvas. The secret of success is learning to make holidays and camps a source of fun and adventure for everybody. You may not have any Girlguiding Going Away Qualifications, then first contact your Commissioner before any other planning takes place. Your Commissioner is there to help and will, with assistance from your Residential Adviser, arrange appropriate support and training for you to gain the right qualifications.
