Parks and Recreation Commission The Parks and Recreation Commission is an advisory body of the Spotsylvania County Board of Supervisors, which serves as a liaison between the Parks and Recreation Department and the citizens. The Commission consults with and advises the Parks and Recreation Director in matters affecting recreation policies and programs related to the total community recreation program and its long-range projected programs. The Commission meets the third Thursday of every other month beginning in February at 6:00pm in the Board of Supervisors’ Chambers of the Holbert Building. Input from the public is invited and encouraged. For those persons with special needs, contact the Saturday, May 16, 2020 department five days prior to the meeting and accommodations will be made. Avoid the crowds of the holidays and take in everything New York City has to offer! 20 5 Outdoor Recreation Facilities Indoor Facilities: Spotsylvania County residents may reserve Community Centers for a fee. (open to residents only) Available to the public on a first-come, first-served basis for meetings, birthdays, etc. Reservations are made up to one year in advance through the Spotsylvania Parks and Recreation Department office and users are responsible for clean up and trash removal. Each center has a large meeting room, kitchen, restrooms, tables, and chairs.
